Consuelos was working out of town, couldn’t get Ripa on the phone — and got a REALLY bad feeling

KELLY RIPA’S suspicious hubby once faked a flower delivery to catch her cheating! Riverdale hunk Mark Consuelos shockingly reveals he didn’t always trust the former soap dish in the early days of their marriage.

“I was doing a show in Boston, and I couldn’t get a hold of her all day,” Mark, 49, says in lovebirds Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue’s new book, What Makes a Marriage Last.

“We didn’t have cell phones then. I got a really bad feeling. So I got on a flight to New York and called her from the plane and asked her what she was doing that night.”

Daytime diva Kelly, 49, recalls telling Mark she was scrubbing their toilets!

“Apparently, he thought that sounded very fishy,” she laughs.

“So he gets home and tells the doorman to call up to the apartment and tell me there’s a flower delivery. I’m excited because I’m thinking, Oh, my gosh, he’s sending me flowers.”

A thrilled Kelly answered the door wearing a bathrobe and holding a mop — and was stunned to find Mark standing there!

“He comes in — he doesn’t even say hello,” she remembers. “He’s looking for something. I’m still looking for the flower guy! And he’s sweeping the scene!”

Mark’s doubts obviously didn’t derail their love affair. The celebrity couple, who met on the set of the daytime drama All My Children in 1995, celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on May 1.
