Madeleine McCann murder suspect Christian Brueckner will never cooperate with prosecutors, according to his lawyer.
The convicted child molester — who’s serving time in Germany on drug charges — is the No. 1 suspect in the British toddler’s disappearance. Three-year-old Madeleine vanished from her bed in Portugal in 2007 while her parents dined in a nearby restaurant, and German police said they believe she’s dead.
But the jailbird’s lawyer claimed even if officials prove Brueckner, 43, was in the same area as the tot on the night of her disappearance, that doesn’t make him a criminal! Attorney Friedrich Fulscher said he was still waiting for evidence of a phone call supposedly made by Brueckner, which allegedly placed him outside the McCanns’ vacation residence in Praia da Luz. But he argued, “You can’t say because of the fact that this cellphone was logged to this tower that he was standing near to the apartment.” Brueckner, who was convicted of raping a 72-year-old American woman in Portugal in 2005, had lived near the resort where Madeleine went missing.
But Fulscher insisted, “The prosecutor’s office has to prove a suspect committed a crime.
“Before our client starts to cooperate with the prosecutor’s office you will be able to order holy water … in hell.”
