You know some of the actors in Hollywood are not what they portray on the big screen. Here are some of the top actor’s ex-wives confessions about their ex-husbands. 

Ryan Reynolds

Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has always seemed like a laid-back guy. And he was certainly the lesser star when he wed his first wife, Scarlett

Johansson, in 2008 — which is exactly what doomed their marriage, she says. Apparently, the Deadpool star was blinded by jealousy! Scarjo, now married to the third husband, SNL’s Colin Jost (Ryan now has three kids with second wife Blake Lively), admitted as much in a 2016 interview. 

“The logistics of being with another actor are challenging,” she told Cosmo. 

“There has to be a real understanding of how you share your time, especially when two people’s careers are going at the same rate.”

 Then she added: 

“Or even if one person is more successful than the other, that also proves challenging. There may be a competitive thing.” Bingo!

Blake Shelton

When Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert split in 2015, it was widely believed that he was the injured party. But his first wife, fellow Oklahoman Kaynette Williams, tells a different story: Blake was a cheater first! When she filed for divorce after three years in 2006, she claimed the country singer was “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct.”

Jeff Allen, Miranda’s boyfriend at the time, corroborated her allegation. In 2018, he tweeted and deleted a scathing message to the Voice mentor. 

“I know damn good and well you were cheating on your wife and Miranda was cheating on me when you two started up,” he wrote.

 It’s something Blake himself — now wed to Gwen Stefani — alluded to in 2011 in describing the chemistry he felt while first performing with Miranda in 2005: 

“I was a married guy, you know, standing up there going,

 “Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her right there onstage.”

Tom Cruise

He didn’t have her at hello — or ever? Actress Mimi Rogers thought she was getting one of Hollywood’s sexiest rising stars when she wed Tom Cruise in 1987. Turns out the Top Gun hotshot fizzled between the sheets! Already known for his chiseled physique at the time, the future Mission: Impossible star was worried about losing his mojo, his first wife has said — and that ultimately led to the demise of their union in 1990: 

“He thought he had to be celibate to maintain the purity of his instrument, but my instrument needed tuning, and we had to split.”

Bradley Cooper

When Bradley Cooper got together with Jennifer Esposito, the couple tried to keep the romance a secret.

“I’m not answering that,” Jennifer replied when asked if she was dating the A Star Is Born actor in 2006. 

Soon enough, the pair tied the knot in the South of France — but just four months later the Law & Order actress had filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Both have stayed mum on the subject, but in her 2014 memoir, Jennifer’s Way: My Journey With Celiac Disease, the Staten Island native wrote about an unnamed ex that many assumed was Bradley. She declared he was “funny, smart, cocky, arrogant and a master manipulator.” Their time together was “fun” she wrote, “but he also had a mean, cold, and violent side. His personality could flip on a dime.”

Lionel Richie

Hello, is it me you’re looking for?  Lionel Richie was in for a surprise — and a world of hurt — when his first wife, college sweetheart Brenda Harvey, barged in to the Beverly Hills apartment of their friend Diane Alexander at 2 AM in 1988. According to cops, she found the pair in flagrante delicto and promptly kicked the singer in what was referred to as the “stomach area” (think further south). Furious, she began trashing the apartment and kicking the 22-year-old dancer. After tussling with police, Brenda was charged with corporal injury to a spouse and trespassing, among other counts (she was released on $5,000 bail). 

Turns out the singer had been leading a double life! He had secretly been seeing Diane for several years — and continued to go behind Brenda’s back until they finally divorced in 1993. He and Diane wed in 1995.

Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson’s nearly three-decades-long marriage to mom-of-seven Robyn Moore was strained in 2006 after his infamous antisemitic rant during a DUI arrest in Malibu. But it didn’t really implode until the Mad Max actor impregnated another woman, Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva, 14 years his junior, in 2009. Though Robyn denied in court that her ex had ever “engaged in any physical abuse,” Oksana, during her own messy split from the actor, accused him of punching her in the face “more than once.” Mel, who admitted to slapping the mom to his daughter Lucia with an “open hand,” was sentenced to three years’ probation, counseling, and community service. Yes, the sexy Mel Gibson is a woman beater. 

Harrison Ford

Say it isn’t so, Han Solo! The space pilot’s chemistry with Princess Leia was off the charts in 1977’s Star Wars. And Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher found the heat offscreen as well — even though he’d been married to first wife Mary Marquardt for more than 10 years! 

“My affair with Harrison was a very long one-night stand,” 

Carrie wrote in The Princess Diaries, the memoir she published before her 2016 death. 

At least she felt guilty about the adultery, writing, 

“I was relieved when it ended. I didn’t approve of myself.” Harrison, on the other hand, was just looking for a good time: “I loved him, and he allowed it.”

This goes to show actors/actresses are not what they character plays.
