Hello, my readers; I know it’s been a while since my last post. I must say a lot has happened. You all remember my previous post about the court. Well, her father appealed and hired a lawyer.
ARRIVING AT COURT
We arrived at the courthouse an hour early, which was very chilling. My husband, my daughter, and I stepped out of the parking garage. There was a black car, completely tinted. It was parked next to a parked car. The cop parked on a motorcycle said nothing. Then, he received what seemed like a cue from someone. He and a man started moving simultaneously. The man appeared to be waiting at the end of the block. It felt like I was on the Truman show.
We arrive at the judge’s room. We all sit on the bench outside the room. We prepare for our hearing. We gathered our evidence and printed out the necessary documents the night before.
It was time to go in. Suddenly, an elevator chime rang, and my daughter’s father came walking out of the elevator with his very confident lawyer. All three of us, my husband, daughter, and I watch them with our mouths agape. Thinking we were screwed.
The hearing started. Immediately, their defense focused on me and my ex-husband. I was only married to him for less than a year. He is serving 15 years in prison. My daughter’s father’s defense of me was that I put thoughts in her head.

“How could I do that when I didn’t know anything until a few years ago?”

They never responded to my daughter’s allegations. My daughter’s father and his very confident female lawyer called upon my daughter. They tried to confuse her, and it looked like it was working. I couldn’t wait for my daughter to call me as a witness.
I’M CALLED TO THE WITNESS STAND
Immediately the judge started cross-examining me and was rude, but I stood my ground and delivered an emotional, truthful testimony.

I revealed that (I didn’t feel comfortable saying this in front of my daughter, but it needed to be said.) I revealed that when she was a toddler, he once beat me while she was in my lap in the car while in McDonald’s driveway while my daughter slowly fell to the floor of the vehicle.
