Biden thinks he’s doing a good job, sources say, but polls of Americans tell a different story

HUMILIATED Hunter Biden’s marriage to second wife Melissa Cohen is headed for the dumpster due to the pressures of living as “virtual prisoners” as scandal swirls around President Joe Biden and his recovering addict son.

An insider dishes Hunter, 53, and South African–born Melissa, 37, mom of his son Beau, 2, are basically trapped in their home under 24/7 Secret Service protection and “it’s caused more strain than either can handle. It doesn’t help that Hunter’s paranoid and quite a jealous character and high-maintenance.

The feds have been breathing down their necks for over four years and Hunter has lots of enemies waiting to see him fall. “All they can do is sit this out and it’s driving them crazy.”

Now federal prosecutors are reportedly heading in for the kill as they wrap a probe into Hunter’s possible tax and foreign lobbying violations, false statements and other offenses, sources say.

“Melissa’s hankering to return to work but Hunter’s worried what will happen if she does. She has the patience of a saint but people do wonder what’s in it for her to stay in this marriage when she’s clearly so unhappy,” blabs the spy.

Others tattle the documentary filmmaker didn’t realize what she was getting herself into when she wed Biden’s notorious son amid scandal over his laptop files that shed light on his sleazy drug-fueled sexual antics and triggered questions about a presidential bribery scandal.

“Perhaps she saw herself as Hunter’s savior. She helped him to get sober,” notes the source.

While Hunter should be grateful for what she’s done for him, “he takes her for granted,” adds the source.

“If he’s not being a prince and not treating her like gold, people wonder why she’s sticking around.”

CANTANKEROUS Joe Biden and wife Jill are scrapping like cats and dogs over the doddering octogenarian’s dream of another four years in the Oval Office, according to sources who say the fed-up first lady’s threatening to walk if he runs again in 2024, say sources.

In a bombshell revelation, beltway insiders reveal no-nonsense Jill is desperate to spare her hubby any humiliation and frequently tells bullheaded Biden stuff he doesn’t want to hear despite knowing it will set off what he calls his notorious Irish temper.

In a fierce showdown over his political ambitions, spies say Jill gave Joe both barrels, citing plunging approval ratings, blowback over the Chinese spy balloon fiasco, Afghanistan, family scandals and suspicions about his health as powerful reasons the public — and his own Democratic Party — won’t support his reelection.

Now, Jill’s strong objection to another run has put a huge strain on their marriage — she’s threatening to walk out the door — but Joe’s too proud to quit, insiders dish.

“Joe thinks he’s doing a good job!” a source spills. He’s furious with Jill for not believing in him! But the truth is, Jill has always had his back. It’s just his time has come and gone.

“Jill can read the lack of support among Democratic leaders and the public and urged Joe to let it go — for the sake of his health AND his reputation!”

A Beltway insider says the president shrugs off talk even “his most ardent supporters are plotting to find a stronger name to top their ticket in 2024” and believes his job growth numbers make a “winning argument” for voters.

But things appear to be going from bad to worse!

Biden, 80, was already facing historically low approval ratings when he allowed the massive Chinese surveillance balloon to fly over the entire nation, almost certainly transmitting crucial intelligence data, before FINALLY shooting it down over the Atlantic.

“It hovered over key military and government installations with no response,” notes international affairs expert Dr. Jim Garrow. “That’s the kind of leadership you’d expect from an old man who consistently proves he’s not up to the demands of the job.”

On the same day the president defended his actions in his State of the Union address, top Republicans talked about a resolution criticizing the administration’s slow response to Balloongate, blasting it as an example of Biden being bamboozled by China. The incident seems to have popped Joe’s political balloon, too.

A February ABC News/ Washington Post poll showed only a shocking 22 percent of Americans believe Biden should run again and a massive 62 percent believe he’s accomplished “little or nothing” during his presidency! Only 37 percent of Democrats say they want to see him run for a second term in a Feb. 7 AP-NORC poll.

Even his aides are scurrying away. Trusted press secretary Jen Psaki skipped out last year, top staffer Anne Filipic hit the bricks in August and personal aide Stephen Goepfert also split.

Jill sees the writing on the wall, according to the insider, who says she knows his Republican enemies will spend the next two years making hay with investigations into the secret documents FBI raiders found in their home and his recovering dope addict son, Hunter.

According to critics, Hunter’s shameful string of embarrassments include trying to involve his father in shady business deals with China and Ukraine as well as his own wild lifestyle. Doubts about Biden’s mental capacity and health only throw fuel on the fire.
