FORMER rom-com queen Meg Ryan is unrecognizable after emerging from a long public absence — and top doctors blame her shocking appearance on too much plastic surgery! Once the reigning love goddess of the late 1980s and ’90s, Meg, now 61, had not been photographed for six months before turning up in New York for a screening of pal Michael J. Fox’s new documentary about his battle with Parkinson’s disease.
After evaluating photos of the former beauty taken at the event, Chicago-based plastic surgeon Dr. Otto Placik says the Sleepless in Seattle star “clearly and undoubtedly” has had multiple procedures. “While technically speaking, the results are uncomplicated, the outcome is shocking!” declares Placik. “She appears to be a completely different person rather than a rejuvenated version.”
He says Meg has undergone a facelift, including work on her forehead, mid-face, upper and lower eyelid and neck as well as “some form of resurfacing to create her shiny smooth, glistening fair complexion.” New York City plastic surgeon Dr. Joel Shahar agrees Meg has had a facelift, adding, “She doesn’t look as natural as she could be. She looks strange. And when someone looks strange, it’s not a good job.”
Dr. Javad Sajan, a Seattlebased plastic surgeon, says Meg suffered a “botched” eyelid procedure and an “overdone facelift” that left her with what surgeons call “the Joker Deformity.” Despite her radically altered appearance, Meg has disavowed ever having had work done, saying in the past, “It’s so easy to judge” — and a rep for the actress calls rumors of extensive surgeries “completely fabricated.”
The doctors quoted in this article have not treated Meg Ryan.
