ARIANA’S HISTORY OR HOMEWRECKING

Fans weren’t entirely shocked when it was revealed Ariana Grande and her real estate agent husband of two years, Dalton Gonez, had split. On July,16, the day before the news broke, the “Save Your Tears” singer was spotted without her wedding ring while attending the star-studded Wimbledon final in London, where she happily sandwiched between Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey and Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield.

The headlines to follow were more surpising. The 30-year-old had been secretly dating Ethan Slater, her married costar from the upcoming film adaptation of the musical Wicked. Ethan, 31, only recently separated from his wife of five years, Lily Jay (they welcomeed a son together last August)

Yet Ariana has been accused of breaking up happy homes before. In 2016 the late Glee star Naya Rivera recalled finding Ariana at the home Naya shared with her then-boyfriend Big Sean, while in 2020, Pete Davidson’s ex Cazzie David recalled finding out he’d moved on with Ariana just days after their split. “When Ariana falls for someone, she has to have him,” a source tells Star, “regradless of whether he’s already in relationship or not.”

DANGEROUS LIAISON

She set her sights on Ethan early on. “Ariana and Ethan had great chemistry and would hang out between scenes and off the set,” dishes the source, noting that cast and crew of Wicked were fully aware of what was happening. “Ariana and Ethan didn’t hide it very well. They held hands and would touch each other’s shoulders and spent a lot of time in each other’s trailers.”

The exact timeline remains a mystery. “Ariana swears nothing happened with Ethan until after he separeted from his wife–and that’s the story she’s sticking with,” reveals the source. (In May the singer liked an Instagram post from Ethan in which he called Lilly “the most caring and wonderful person/mom in the world.”)
