Unfortunately, many of us either know someone or have directly experienced just how long the wait can be when you visit the emergency room—however, death is the outcome that no one would expect. Sadly, it’s the reality for a Milwaukee woman, who had to wait hours in the emergency room and died without being treated.
@Blavity reports, 25-year-old Tashonna Ward from Milwaukee, reportedly waited over two hours in a local emergency room, then while on her way to find other medical care, she died. Ward went to Froedtert Hospital on January 2nd after initially complaining of shortness of breath and chest pain and according to her family, was not being medically monitored as she waited in the emergency room.
According to the medical report, Froedtert staff checked Ward’s heartbeat and it appeared normal, although her chest x-ray, showed she an enlarged heart. She posted several updates on Facebook regarding her frustration about the long emergency room wait. In her first messages she wrote, “I really hope I’m not in this emergency room all night. Freodert so packed it don’t make no sense. Damn near woulda been better off going to St Joes.”
Ward also posted:
“Idk what they can do about the emergency system at freodert but they damn sure need to do something. I been here since 4:30 something for shortness of breath, and chest pains for them to just say it’s a two to SIX hour wait to see a dr. Like that is really f**kin ridiculous.”
After leaving the hospital to find an urgent care clinic, Ward collapsed and was rushed back to Froedtert in an ambulance. She was pronounced dead shortly after. Froedtert released a statement regarding Ward’s death that read, “The family is in our thoughts and has our deepest sympathy. We cannot comment further at this time.”
We want to keep Tashonna Ward’s loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
Although with considerable research, it seems that the urban side of Milwaukee, the crime rate has increased, forcing businesses to close down and move away. It also reported that the employees of these stores are forced not to stop these thieves and to allow them to steal. This spike in crime increased when Donald Trump ended former president Barack Obama’s law for background check for the purchase of any firearms. Since then, the greater Milwaukee is turning into a massive crime area filled with racist people and careless cops.
