CBS News is being torn apart by a bitter rivalry between two of its biggest stars — Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell!

That’s the word of insiders who exclusively reported that “CBS This Morning” co-host Gayle and “CBS Evening News” anchor Norah have an icy relationship — despite previously sharing a studio for seven years! A source inside the newsroom said their relationship was a “disaster from day one!”

“They go out of their way to avoid each other!” the source spilled.

According to insiders, Gayle, 65, was furious when she found out Norah, 46, was telling anyone who would listen that her new partner was only hired as co-anchor on “CBS This Morning” because of her high-profile pals!

Insiders said despite Gayle’s attempts to forge a friendship, Norah remained cold to her co-host and made things so uncomfortable Gayle made special arrangements to avoid getting caught next to her in the morning makeup chair! “Gayle began to have her makeup done at home, so she wouldn’t have to see Norah at all before they went on the air!” another tipster snitched. Sources also said Gayle was put off by Norah’s habit of looking down her nose at her love of pop culture!

“Gayle is as comfortable at the Oscars as she is at the White House, and Norah could not care less about fashion or Jennifer Aniston, and made it clear she thought that was beneath her!” the tipster dished.

Insiders said Norah also put Gayle on high alert with what they called “dismissive and sometimes rude” behavior!

“Norah can be so harsh in her treatment of people — particularly women — I’ve seen a lot of tears,” an insider said. Another CBS News source dished Gayle was appalled Norah allegedly campaigned for the job of their former co-worker Jeff Glor!
