Hello all my readers, in this blog, I didn’t want to talk about this subject of Sidney Poitier because he’s deceased and he was an iconic man. He paved the way for many black actors. His sacrifice and marks are not forgotten and not taken for granted. MAY HE REST IN PEACE!!

Sidney Poitier may have been an iconic actor but he also loves women. Sidney was also reported to have juggled family and affair for 9 years.
Stately Sidney Poitier was revered in Hollywood before his death at 94yrs old, on Jan 6- but he also nearly destroyed his family by having not one affair or one nightstand. But a nine-year affair with beautiful actress Diahann Carroll.
The first black man to win an acting Oscar was married to Juanita Hardy, now 91, for nine years when he fell hard for the likewise married Diahann onset of the 1959 musical “Porgy and Bess”
They met at sleazy Times Square movie houses, Sidney confessed his love for Diahann many times, but he also loved Juanita. Their affair became so torrid, Diahann, who died in 2019 at 84yrs old wrote in her autobiography that Sidney gave her an engagement ring and a ten-room New York City apartment but changed his mind and decided to stay with Juanita. He even changed the locks. It was easier for him to be with a white woman.
She goes on to write, and I quote,
Then he made me write him a check to offset his purchase and decorating costs
Sidney divorced Juanita two years later, they worked hard to earn back the trust of his ex-wife, and their four daughters, according to sources. He was sorry for causing his family so much pain and eventually earned their forgiveness-even from Juanita.
However, Sidney went on to marry actress Joanna Shimkus, 78, had two more daughters, and remained a devoted dad until he died.
