DISGRACED Ellen DeGeneres is plotting a revenge comedy tour where she’ll humiliate her Hollywood enemies with dagger-sharp jokes, insiders dish.
Dubbed TV’s Queen of Mean after a toxic workplace scandal scuttled her prized TV talk gig following a whopping 19-year run, Ellen is determined to settle scores by roasting other toxic celebs like Kanye West, James Corden and Will Smith, sources reveal.
“Ellen wants to call out the bad guys and expose the real monsters in Hollywood,” says an insider. “She’s really enjoying seeing these guys get what they deserve — and it takes the heat off of her! It’s great fodder for a stand-up routine.”
Ellen, who’s worth an estimated $500 million, believes she “just needs to regroup for a while” before launching her comeback, adds the source. “In the meantime, watching others squirm is wonderful therapy.”
As GLOBE previously reported, the chatterbox has been dealt a series of career setbacks since being exposed as a workplace monster — and sources claim her marriage to wife of 14 years Portia de Rossi, 49, is shaking.
But she’s still “clinging to A-list pals like Jennifer Aniston and Kris Jenner while hunting celebs to roast,” says the insider.
Fallen rap mogul West, 45, is a prime target after earning the hatred of his Hollywood peers for declaring war on Jews, while blubbery Brit Corden, 44, has been unmasked as a lout who savages restaurant staffers. Smith, 54, is a pariah in Tinseltown after slapping comic Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Says an insider, “Ellen’s hard at work writing and will tour an hour of comedy, hopefully starting next year, that will also be a streaming special.
“But her timing and her material is going to have to be pitch perfect to put her back on top.”
