Staffers worry Tucker is just the first star to get the ax

BLOWHARD Tucker Carlson was just the first loose cannon to be tossed overboard as FOX News battles to stay afloat after paying $787.5 million for lying about the 2020 presidential election, insiders say.

Sources fear Donald Trump’s on-air FOX boosters — including hosts Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Steve Doocy, Laura Ingraham, Maria Bartiromo and others — are on the chopping block following the network’s monster settlement with Dominion voting machines over election lies.

But even as FOX hosts and rank-and-filers brace for a bloodbath, sources say the fight is on to claim Tucker’s primetime job as Brian Kilmeade, Jesse Watters and even Geraldo Rivera go toe to toe behind the scenes, with insiders predicting Hannity’s squeeze, blond beauty Ainsley Earhardt, has the inside track!

“There is a sense of doom throughout the network,” dishes a FOX insider. Everybody knows if the network was willing to make its biggest star walk the plank — ANYBODY could be next!

“It’s not a question of ‘if,’ but rather ‘WHO’ is going to be next. TV is a business — and it’s bad business to promote personalities who are linked to the lies that led to this devastating payout.”

Speculation is currently rampant business reporter Bartiromo and Justice with Judge Jeanine host Pirro are next on the chopping block — and sources say the pair have told pals they fear the worst.

A damning filing in the Dominion lawsuit specifically cited a November Bartiromo interview with pro-Trump attorney Sidney “Release the Kraken” Powell that focused on unsubstantiated voting machine irregularities to make the case the election was stolen for current President Joe Biden.

Additional court filings stated Pirro, a vocal supporter of the former president, planned an opening monologue “rife with conspiracy theories and BS” and “another example why this woman should never be on live television.”

FOX removed Pirro from the air after the election because network execs did not believe she could be honest about the results, according to the court filings. Pirro insists she did nothing wrong and was working as a constitutionally protected journalist.

Meanwhile, Bartiromo, who also denies any wrongdoing, is a defendant in ANOTHER defamation suit filed by London-based Smartmatic — also a vote-tabulation company — which charges FOX hosts and guests made more than 100 false statements claiming the firm rigged election results!

“Lawsuits like this could put FOX out of business,” notes a source.

Bartiromo is also named in a lawsuit filed by former Tucker Carlson producer Abby Grossberg, who also worked on her show. Grossberg claims to have off-air recordings between Bartiromo and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz discussing an outrageous scheme to overturn the 2020 election results! Brian Stelter, author of Network of Lies, who was canned in last year’s purge at plummeting rival CNN, says “other personalities will be leaving in the months to come.”

And the network insider insists, “FOX has to lay off the costs of the three-quarter-billion-dollar settlement somewhere. That cost will come in the form of further layoffs — both big names and behind the scenes.”

Meanwhile, sources say the vultures are already circling Carlson’s carcass.

“Watters, Kilmeade and Geraldo have privately put in their bids to take over the spot,” a source says. “But all of them are tainted by the scandal to some degree and FOX & Friends panelist Ainsley Earhardt is emerging as the current favorite to get it.

“She’s young and popular and carries the least amount of baggage.”
